At Zito Farms, we are committed to providing consumers with a superior product by utilizing the most effective agricultural and safe food handling standards and practices available. As a family farm, we are also dedicated to helping our children develop the core values of hard work and integrity.
Onions are the main event here on the farm. We offer conventionally grown red, yellow and white onions.
Jared and Mikki were both born and raised in Tremonton, Utah, each to families of small business entrepreneurs. Jared’s roots and passion for farming were engrained in him at an early age while growing up working on his parents’ row crop farm and produce stand operation. This dedication and passion for farming was deepened when, with his parent’s guidance and support, Jared grew and harvested a five-acre field of onions.
Jared and Mikki established Zito Farms in 2010 by purchasing farm ground in Hammett, Idaho from the Withers family with a dream of raising onions. In 2015 the Zito Farms operation was expanded when Jared and Mikki built an onion packing facility. Zito Farms grew again in 2017 with the purchase of additional farm ground in Hammett known previously as Spangler Farms. Two years later, an air floor facility was built allowing for onions to be stored longer and extending the window of time available for shipping to consumers.
Through their efforts to establish and build Zito Farms Jared and Mikki also have the opportunity of following their dream of raising a family on their own farm in dirt and sunshine. This dream is reflected in the Zito Farms tagline: “Raising kids and crops”. Jared and Mikki’s four kids, each of which can be found on any summer day with dirt under their fingernails, help their parents keep the farm up and running.
The Zito Farms team is the heart of our farm. Our team is passionate about taking the utmost care of the land that provides us with the opportunity to realize our dreams. We at Zito Farms are dedicated to providing an exceptional product to each consumer every step of the way from the soil to the kitchen table.
